Who is the Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Bricklaying for?
This Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Bricklaying has been developed for delivery in a working environment; this means you need to be employed to study this qualification. It has been designed to develop and recognise your skills, knowledge and competence so that you can work in bricklaying occupations within the construction industry or progress onto further learning.
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. However, we need to be assured that individuals have the potential and opportunity to successfully gain the qualification.
Aims and Outcomes:
The aim of this qualification is to recognise the knowledge, skills and competence demonstrated by an individual in the workplace. The units in this qualification are derived from National Occupational Standards.
The mandatory units of this qualification are:
- Erecting masonry structures in the workplace.
- Setting out masonry structures in the workplace.
- Conforming to general health, safety and welfare in the workplace.
- Conforming to productive working practices in the work-place
- Moving, handling and storing resources in the work-place.
Learners must complete all Mandatory units and complete 1 additional optional unit. To see all units please download the Course Outline.
A range of assessment methods will be used for each unit including direct observation, professional discussion, witness testimony, questioning, written answers, and use of naturally occurring evidence from the workplace.
Completion of the Qualification:
Successful completion of this qualification will allow you to apply for a CSCS Blue Card.
NVQ Duration: 3 years – but most will complete within 3-6 months.
